... And I have to go back Tuesday? What the crap. This break has been way too busy to be called a break. I've hardly even touched my break goals, save for many hours spent hunched over my DS.
FFIII is like an addiction that I'm not sure if I want to break. I've adjusted more or less to the job system, though there are a few kinks in it I still dislike, but I become rather annoyed when I spend a half hour to an hour in a dungeon, battling my way through and gaining treasure and experience, only to reach the boss and die, effectively trashing good amounts of time. I seethe, but I keep playing. I don't know if I'm even having fun or not. (Of course, I wonder this with a lot of video games, mostly ones I love that knock me down and kick me til I bleed. Yes, I'm stuck in numerous games right now). I think I might have some masochistic tendencies....
(Then again, I can think of the first time through each dungeon as the preview so I know where I need to go and what weaknesses the enemy has. It just rankles that the only way to beat the boss is to train for a while in the opening of the dungeon and go halfway 'cross the world to heal myself whenever I get weak--I'm in the Water temple in the World of Darkness, and the nearest inn is in the other world.)
Phoenix Wright, on the other hand ... pure love. Even if I didn't have a bit of a thing for the Law, this would be fun. Scouring crime scenes, listening to testimony and knowing immediately what evidence I can present and where I can needle the witnesses' weaknesses in story to make them spill all ... it just gives me shivers ^^ Each case plays out as kind of a mystery, but you usually know who's guilty--you just have to prove the how and why. Besides all that, the characters and dialogue (why the FRIG is Firefox's retarded spellcheck telling me that "dialogue" isn't a word?) are fantastic. I'm only on my second case (the first one's basically a primer; there are five cases in all) and I'm pretty sure I want to get the second game when it comes out next month.
Children of Mana is refreshing too. Where FFIII satisfies my turn-based traditional RPG desires in spades, CoM offers a different kind of battle system: basically, you bash things with your weapon in real time battle. I don't understand people who can get anger release from FF type games. These games on the other hand? I shall be bashing away each time I get trashed in FFIII. (Also, I already like CoM 200x better than Sword of Mana, because it has pretty graphics and recurring characters--it has MOTI! "Mr. Moti is everywhere, doing everything." That includes training the main character and wearing a preposterous headdress in this game.)
My life right now = Work + Nintendo DS (FFIII) + a few hours of sleep
But tomorrow is my last day of work. So that's good. I'll have Saturday to breathe ... well, I have a million things I haven't done yet. (My life would be a lot easier if I could play DS at work. Today was actually pretty busy, but Tuesday and Wednesday? I don't know if anyone would've even noticed.)
One thing I did do ... today I got a humidifier. It's shaped like a frog. Now, if that isn't fantastic ...

Never played Phoenix Wright, though I heard it's a really good game.

A frog-shaped humidifier? I need to see that.
